This week’s Friday night game of the week is a Catholic League battle at the Shrine on Airline, as the Jesuit Blue Jays take on the John Curtis Patriots.  The Patriots are coming off of a big non-district win over the Warren Easton Eagles 27-21.  The Patriots Quarterback Collin Guggenheim rushed for 2 touchdowns and ran the John Curtis offense pretty efficient.  With the Patriots offense 4 deep at running back Coach JT Curtis has the luxury of alternating backs every play.  The defense was pretty good holding a high powered Eagles offense to just 3 touchdowns.

The Jesuit Blue Jays come into this district a little bit wounded taking it on the chin vs. Holy Cross 31-17.  Coach Mark Songy’s young Blue Jay team led by Running Back Michael Torry and Quarterback Alex Watermeier may have a rough time against a more experienced Patriots team.  But as we all know in the Catholic League every team must show up or they will get beat.  If Jesuit’s offense can generate some points and get a turnover or 2 on defense this could be a very competitive game otherwise it could be a long night for the Blue Jays.
