The Kenner City Council says it supports the Jefferson Parish School Board's decision to ban parish president Mike Yenni from all campuses and school functions, in the wake of a sexting scandal involving Yenni and a teenage boy.

The ban was enacted in 2016.

Yenni's not likely to change much of the public reaction to the story, according to political analyst Clancy DuBos. DuBos wonders why Yenni would even mention it.

"Him bringing this up is only going to remind people of the problem," DuBos said.

Yenni survived a recall effort but if he runs for reelection, DuBos doesn't see how he could win, unless he ends up with a really unpopular opponent.

"The last time I checked, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un are not eligible to be parish president," DuBos remarked. "Other than that, I don't see any way he gets reelected."
