While we wait on LSU's March Madness fate, we also wait on NOLA's next turn to host Final Four

While we cheer on LSU in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, we're waiting on our turn to host the Final Four again. New Orleans hasn't been home to The Final Four since 2012.

The big dance will return in three years.

"The NCAA awarded us the 2022 Men's Final Four," said Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation president Jay Cicero.  "That will make six for New Orleans."

That ties us with Louisville, Kentucky for third most. Only Kansas City and New York City have hosted more -- but none of those three have hosted the event since the 1960s.

New Orleans will be hosting some big sports events over the next few years. The Smoothie King Center will host the SEC women's gymnastics finals this Saturday. New Orleans also has the College Football Playoff Championship Game next year, followed by the 2020 Women's Final Four, the aforementioned Men's Final Four in 2022, and in February 2024, Super Bowl LVIII.
