An anticipated cold pushed ahead of it some squally weather late this morning, prompting tornado and severed thunderstorm warnings.

Many streets had high water from the torrential showers and high winds and dark skies had some residents on edge.

In one neighborhood in Marrero on the Westbank, some residents witnessed some gutters ripped off and scattered debris.

A man told WWL-TV that a trampoline landed on his roof and he doesn't know where it came from.

''I actually heard it blowing real good, it had to be 60 to 70 miles per hour,'' he said.

A woman who lives nearby witnessed her car crushed under a chunk of an awning.

''Pretty much the back part of the roof is destroyed and the car,'' she said.
From St. Charles Parish into Jefferson Parish, the storm system clipped along at around 30 miles an hour, also causing thousands of power outages.
