Triple shooting off Causeway Blvd. in Shrewsbury neighborhood

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says bullets were flying on Causeway Blvd. Wednesday night not far from Jefferson Highway.

"Sheriff Joseph Lopinto reports at 9:20 pm on June 19, headquarters received a report of gunshots in the 1300 block of S. Causeway in Shrewsbury," Public Information Officer Glen Boyd said in an email.

Deputies got there to find one man dead and two more injured at the Frank Lemon Playground.

The New Orleans Advocate reports that a Grambling football player was injured and his brother and another man were killed in that triple shooting.

The player was identified as Darrell 'DJ' Clark, who is a wide receiver for the Tigers. His brother, 19-year-old Keyon Clark, was killed in the same shooting.

Boyd says they located the man just east of the Lemon Gym suffering from gunshot wounds.

"He was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other victims were shot as well and are being treated for their injuries at area hospitals. Their conditions are unknown."

He says investigators do not have a motive or suspect information.

"Anyone with information on this incident, please call our Investigations Bureau at 504-364-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111."
