This morning’s meeting was originally scheduled for September 3rd, just days after the streets of CBD filled with water following an intense afternoon storm.

Councilman Joe Giarrusso, Chair of the committee, was anxious to get the Sewerage and Water Board in front of the Council to explain what was going on with flooding in areas that hadn’t flooded before.

Though the agenda contains just two items, presentations on coordinated efforts of the Sewerage and Water Board and the Department of Public Works.

But its pretty much assured a public comment period will likely take a majority of the meeting as residents and business owners voice their views on the CBD street flooding issues.

One council member will not be in attendance, Kristen Gisleson Palmer is away this week.  But earlier she called for an investigation in the SWB operations going back decades to get an objective look at what has and hasn’t been done by previous administrations.

This morning's council meeting gets underway at 10:30am.
