Suspect wanted in Amite killing

Tangipahoa Parish authorities are looking for a 33-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting a man outside an Amite bar overnight.

"On December 23, 2018, close to midnight, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Detectives began investigating a shooting that occurred outside of the Mr. J's Lounge located on Bennett Road in Amite, Louisiana," the sheriff's office reported. 

"Upon arrival, detectives located 50-year-old Larry Anthony Davis Sr. suffering from gunshot wound(s), where he was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene."

Investigators have developed 33-year-old Jerome Ricks as a suspect.

According to the sheriff's office, Ricks is considered armed and dangerous, with a criminal history described as "extensive." Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crimestoppers at (800) 554-5245.
