Get ready for a lot of rain.

"A line of showers and storms associated with the cold front will be moving east today," WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum warned. "This line will arrive later this morning and then stall over us this afternoon/evening."

He says storms ahead and along the line could be strong to possibly severe.

"Damaging winds will be the main threat, but a few tornadoes and hail are also possible."

Nussbaum said it will stay warm and humid today with highs in the mid 70s.

"This will also lead to some heavy rain. Rain totals could be around 1-3" in a few places as the storms train over the same area.  Watch for some street flooding."

Models show the front will stay stalled over Southeast Louisiana Thursday and Friday.

"Each day will have scattered showers and storms with some heavy rain possible. However, it will not rain all day. We will stay warm and humid with highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s."
