The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office revealed new details on the murder of the missing Pearl River man and woman who were found in the Camaro in the water off the East Pearl River Boat Launch on Monday.

Sheriff Randy Smith said it was a carjacking gone bad and that both victims Raegan Day and Dustin Hartline were shot.

Smith said it all began when Hartline had decided to sell his vehicle.  The suspects had enquired about it and then decided to steal it.

"These four individuals that were arrested for first degree homicide had planned this, premeditaded this and met these two missing individuals on   Salmon off of Brown's Village in the East Morgan Subdivision," Smith said.

Eighteen-year-old Jason Landry and 25-year-old Brittney “Beezy” Savell, who both live in Slidell, were arrested in Waveland, Mississippi.  22-year-old Derrion Lemoine and 27-year-old Steve “Stevie” Olivieri were arrested in Louisiana.

The sheriff said this was premeditated by the suspects who had planned to steal the vehicle and that the motive was robbery.

"During the investigation, our detectives were able to locate 3 weapons and 2 of those were believed to be the murder weapons," said Smith.
Police also said that Raegan Day and the female suspect, Brittney Savell, were acquaintances and knew each other.

The victims had been missing since February 15.
