Stocks and oil see strong end to the week

Stocks posted solid gains to close out the week. 

The Dow Industrials rose 181 points, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 67 and the s&p 500 added 17.

Oil prices notched a three-month settlement high, getting a lift from upbeat U.S.-China trade talks. April crude gained 30 cents to settle at $57.26 a barrel.
   
Investors today gave a big thumbs down to Stamps.com’s decision to end its shipping arrangement with the U.S. Postal Service. The company will no longer use the postal service to deliver stamps to customers, and instead will seek to make shipping deals with companies such as Fedex and UPS. The news sent Stamps.com shares plunging 58%.

Nine Louisiana parishes have been designated as disaster areas because of rains and flooding last fall. The U.S. Agriculture Secretary says farmers and ranchers can apply for emergency loans.
