Today we find out who will be performing at this year's 51st New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
Keith Spera who handles music for The Times Picayune/The New Orleans Advocate and Nola.com calls it "Christmas in January" for him, saying it's exciting to find out who is coming.

One name that seems fairly solid for this year...
"Pete Townsend from The Who let the cat out of the bag a couple of months ago and mentioned that the band would be coming to Jazz Fest," Spera said.  "So unless something changed, it sound like you'll see The Who back at Jazz Fest."

Some other names are being floated around.

"It's possible that Jazz Fest made a play for Lizzo, who had a huge year last year," said Spera who said she only has one North American show announced so far.

Pearl Jam and Dead & Co. are also possible for Jazz Fest.

The Avett Brothers coming through the area around the same time, Country singer Luke Combs is also a possibility.  Jazz Fest is also announcing an extra day will be scheduled, meaning an extra Thursday to the schedule which of course the locals love.
