Detectives in Slidell hope the public can help them identify a man they have dubbed the "Arts and Crafts" burglar.

"On March 5, 2018, Slidell Police responded to the Berkley Apartments (2020 Eleventh Street, Slidell, LA) after the property manager discovered a large hole cut in the sheetrock of the main office, and newspaper glued to the surveillance camera," Slidell Police spokesman Det. Daniel Seuzeneau said.

"A review of the surveillance video showed a subject enter the laundry room of the apartment complex, put a t-shirt over his head, then attempt glue newspaper to the surveillance camera. The suspect accidently exposed his face on several occasions during his arts and crafts project. The suspect then cut a hole into the sheetrock of the laundry room, which led into the main office of the complex. It is assumed the suspect was searching for cash, but came up empty handed."

Anyone with information is asked to call Det. Kyle Taylor at (9850 646-6174 or email him at [email protected]. Tips can also be left at Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP). Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
