Shaun Ferguson sworn in as the new police superintendent of the NOPD

New Orleans has a new Police Chief.  46-year-old Shaun Ferguson was sworn in as the new superintendent of the NOPD this morning just after 9 a.m. 

The 24 year veteran of the NOPD ranks, thanked God, his family, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, his team at the New Orleans Police Department, and the former superintendent Michael Harrison who he acknowledged, game him a reference when he applied on with the NOPD, calling him his mentor.  

Fergusun said he is anxious to get started and will continue to do what they have been doing to make NOPD the best police department in the United States.  The commitment and dedication will continue, according to Ferguson.
