A plane carrying 3 people crashed in waters off of St. Bernard Parish killing 1 and injuring 2 others, Coast Guard officials said.

The seaplane went down around 2:55 p.m. in the Chandeleur Sound, east of the Mississippi River.  Coast Guard crews responded and recovered all 3 passengers via helicopter.

One person was pronounced dead and officials said they are in the process of identifying the victim.

The others were rushed to University Medical Center in New Orleans.  They were reported to be concious and are receiving treatment.

This is the second plane crash in 3 days.  Friday, a small plane crashed just south of New Orleans Lakefront Airport killing WVUE News anchor Nancy Parker and the pilot.
