The second suspect in the bloody Canal St. shooting melee of December 1 is now in custody.

According to The Times-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate, LaBryson Polidore was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail earlier today.

U.S. Marshals reportedly tracked down Polidore hours after he was identified as the second suspect wanted in connection to the shoot out.

At a press conference yesterday, Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson announced the arrest of the primary suspect, 21-year-old Stafford Starks (right).  He was taken into custody in St. Mary Parish on eight counts of attempted murder.

Polidore is said to have escaped New Orleans back to St. Mary Parish with an open gunshot wound.  He was treated at a hospital before slipping away.

A dozen people were shot on Canal St. early in the morning of Sunday, December 1.

"New Orleans Police Department along with assistance of our partners, mainly Louisiana State Police, U.S. Marshals, ATF, FBI, have executed search warrants this morning in connection with the shooting on Canal Street on December 1, 2019," said New Orleans Police Superintendent Ferguson said. "Our investigation has revealed this incident is the result of a feud in St. Mary Parish."

According to Chief Ferguson, the number of people shot in the incident grew from 10 to 12 -- and one of the new individuals who were shot turned out to be the suspect, Polidore.

Polidore is facing 10 counts of attempted murder.

The chief said there may be more suspects arrested.

"People who resort to gun violence to solve a problem create no solution at all," said New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. "We will not tolerate it at all."
