Ahead of the official start to the league year on March 11, the New Orleans Saints are releasing veteran Safety Kurt Coleman.

The Saints signed Coleman last February, but after just a single unproductive season in black and gold he will be let go. Coleman played sparingly down the stretch of the regular season and played just three defensive snaps in the playoffs.

The Saints will save $4 million in cap space with the move, but will also carry $3 million dollars in dead money. Coleman signed a three-year deal last off-season with the Saints. The contract was for three years a total of $16.35 million with a $4.5 million dollar signing bonus, and $6.2 million of the deal is guaranteed.
