As the Saints head into a Monday night matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, is the Saints defense depleted as much this season as they've been all season.  With Sheldon Rankins out for the rest of the season, alongside Marcus Davenport who's season is also done, can the Saints manage?  The next man up mentality is never more clear than it is for the remaining three games.

"I'm not a big believer in next man up but that's what you've got here," said WWL NFL analyst Mike Detillier.  "Because the next man isn't as good as the guys you are replacing, but you fight that through the NFL season.  You are going to have injuries."

Detillier make the analogy on Marcus Davenport and Sheldon Rankins.

"Marcus Davenport was really having a good year and went from a 'helper carpenter,' in terms of a defensive lineman, to a 'finisher carpenter,' and Sheldon Rankins is a finisher carpenter," Detillier noted.

The Saints guaranteed a playoff spot but looking to win its remaining three games just to have a shot at home field advantage in the playoffs.
