If any New Orleans Saints fans ever asked themselves, "I wonder what it feels like for characters in the Alien movie franchise when the creature is about to burst from their chest?" they may have got their answer watching Monday Night Football last night between the Saints and Carolina Panthers.

The game was tight for all four quarters, and just when it looked like the Black & Gold were about to slam the door on any hope of a Carolina comeback, an end zone fumble threw that door wide open for Cam Newton and Co.

But the Saints' resurgent defense saved the day, and citizens of the Who Dat Nation were practically out of breath at the end.

"I love what we're seeing from the defense. I love it," one fan told WWL First News.

"It was a great game, it came down to the wire, but we pulled it out," another enthused.

"That was a crazy game, but we came out with a 'W,' right?"

The twelfth win of the season puts the Saints alone at the top of the league's standings,, and one win away from ensuring the road to the Super Bowl will go through the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
