Ric Ocasek, of The Cars, found dead in N.Y. apartment

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer singer Ric Ocasek, of the new-wave band, The Cars, was found dead in New York City Sunday. 

Ocasek's estranged wife, Paulina Prizkova found him unresponsive in his Apartment in Manhattan.  They had recently separated after 28 years of marriage.

Reports are Ocasek died of natural causes. 

He was 75.  

The Cars' broke out in 1978 with their debut album which was a smask thanks to singles that included, "Just What I Needed." 

The band's 1981 single, "Shake It Up," hit #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while 1984's "Drive" hit #3.

The Cars were inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018,
