A sweeping manhunt continues for a suspect in the wounding of a Jefferson Parish deputy. The FBI, ATF, and Louisiana State Police are all involved in the search.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto says 38-year-old Tyronne Louis has a history of violence and could still be in the area. Crimestoppers has raised the reward to $10,000.

"We don't want anybody else hurt, we would like him to come turn himself in, if someone can talk some sense into him," Lopinto said.

Lopinto says the wounded deputy, identified as 11-year veteran Christopher Haislup, suffered bullet wounds to the leg and elbow in the incident that occurred around 10:30 p.m. Sunday in Metairie.

"These things don't get better over time, they only get worse," Lopinto warned, urging the suspect to surrender. "So take the opportunity to be the man you believe that you are and take responsibility for the actions that you took."
