As New Orleans looks to take down red light and speeding cameras, Kenner is considering adding them.

The Kenner City Council is studying options for automated speed enforcement.

They are expected to take up the issue as early as the December 21st council meeting.

Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser says they are looking to address citizen complaints through the use of mobile speed enforcement cameras.

The goal, he says, it to address citizen complaints about speeding.

So, they may not be placed on major roads.  Instead the cameras may well be placed in neighborhoods.
