Our area could see some light rain, around 50%, late this evening and tonight. Temperatures will likely increase overnight and more showers will begin to move in as well.

"Rain coverage tomorrow looks to be around 70-80% through the day," said WWL-TV chief meteorologist Chris Franklin.  "Not a constant rain, but a wet day overall."

The system will quickly move east by early Friday with sunny skies and very pleasant conditions.

"Saturday looks beautiful with morning lows in the 40s and afternoon highs in the low 60s," said Franklin.

Another upper trough will develop a Gulf low for Sunday but most rain looks to remain offshore, but a 20% chance is possible primarily along the coast.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Sunday.  Sunshine for Monday with highs in the mid to upper 60s.  Mostly cloudy Tuesday ahead of another upper trough and cold front. Few spotty showers are possible Wednesday morning as a weak front moves through.
