A federal judge in New Orleans has sentenced a local post office employee to probation after her conviction for stealing mail she was supposed to deliver.

Courtney Duplessis worked in both New Orleans and Jefferson Parish and stole at least 55 pieces of mail.

“On various dates from October 2017 to June 2018, Duplessis stole several pieces of mail containing gift cards and cash,” according to a news release from United States Attorney Peter G. Strasser.  “During an interview, Duplessis admitted to opening several articles of mail and removing cash and gift cards.”

U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon sentenced her to three years of probation.
