Cops say a man went to a tax preparation office in New Orleans East, posing as a tax filer.

"The suspect entered the building requesting help with his taxes. An employee was assisting the suspect and went to the back to retrieve a few forms," according to police reports.

That's when investigators say they man pulled out his gun.

"While the employee was in the back the suspect went to (victim) at the front desk, put a gun to her back, and said give me what you have. The victim complied and gave him her purse which contained her wallet with cash, a debit card, and driver’s license."

The suspect then fled.

It happened Wednesday around 2:30pm in the 4900 block of Bullard Ave.
