Olivia Matte, the woman who caused a fatal crash because she was driving intoxicated on the Causeway bridge, a year ago, is set to be sentenced this afternoon.

The 28-year-old Matte could face between 5 and 30 years in prison.  She pled guilty in September to vehicular homicide in the killing of 37-year-old James Blackmond who died after his pickup truck was hit from behind by Matte's Honda on March 23, 2017.

He was killed by a railing that was driven through the front windshield of his truck during the crash.  Another person, a passenger in Blackmond's truck was injured.

At the time of the crash, Matte was driving on a suspended license; it was her third arrest for driving while intoxicated.
