The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office says it found drugs and guns when investigating suspicious activity Wednesday night near Covington. Three people are under arrest.

"A St. Tammany Parish criminal patrol deputy was patrolling a Covington-area neighborhood located off Harrison Avenue, when he observed a subject peek his head up and out of the rear, open bed of a parked pickup truck," according to a news release from the sheriff's office. "The deputy stopped to investigate and as he approached the parked truck, he observed two males and a female inside of the bed of the truck, who had been smoking marijuana."

Deputies report finding marijuana, LSD, Ecstasy, Xanax, Adderall, two electronic scales, a small amount of cash, and two firearms, one of which had its serial number obliterated.

The three suspects (from left to right: Sylvanus Ellis, Hailey Vieregge, and Peyton Lewis) were booked with varying charges.
