New Orleans Police are investigating a deadly shooting in downtown New Orleans. Police say it happened around 2:10 p.m. in the 900 block of Gravier Street, and also involved a vehicle accident.

NOPD Commander Nick Gernon says it appears the victim was shot in the head while inside the car, which then crash and three suspects jumped out of the vehicle and fled the scene. He said two ran south on Gravier, and a third ran into a nearby parking garage.

A SWAT team searched the garage but police believe that suspect managed to escape.

The victim died a short time later at the hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NOPD Homicide Unit at (504) 658-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll free at (877) 903-7867 (STOP).
