NOPD investigating overnight murder on A P Tureaud

New Orleans Police are investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult male overnight in the Fifth District.

Around 12:11 a.m. Saturday, Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting in the 2400 block of A P Tureaud Avenue. They arrived to find a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the body. He was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family. There are no additional details available at this time.
