NOPD investigates deadly double shooting in Desire

New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the 2900 block of Oliver White Avenue.

Police say shortly after 7:55 p.m. Saturday, officers were sent to investigate a call of two men shot in that location.

"Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a home," said police in a statement. "Both victims were transported to the hospital by EMS where one victim died from his injuries at the hospital."

There was no immediate word on the other victim's condition.
