We are still a week and a half away from the Endymion parade on the Saturday before Fat Tuesday, and already some portions of the neutral ground are being spray painted as parade goers mark off their territory.

The Endymion Parade rolls on Saturday, March 2nd, and on Orleans Avenue  where thousands of people line up, some believe if they spray paint the area, then that area belongs to them.

"Please, don't go out and spray paint the median," said Director Department of Parks and Parkways, Ann Macdonald.  "And don't bring your furniture out to the median."

It is prohibited to rope off any area.

"This is the greatest free show on earth and if everybody is respectful, follows the rules and guidelines, we'all all have a great time," Macdonald said.

"We want you to pay attention to Mardi Gras enforcement procedures," said New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell.  "Again, no nonsense, here."
