At Last! The wait is over; the courtship has been consummated! The Saints have agreed to terms on a contract with free agent tight end Jared Cook.

“Cook had his best season with the Raiders last season in an offense that wasn’t as good as the Saints. I like this signing a lot, because he’s a legit threat in the passing game and a good compliment to Mike Thomas and Alvin Kamara,” explained the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert.

Cook is an 11 year veteran, joining the Saints at age 31.  Last season in Oakland Cook had a career year. Jared Cook hauled in 68 passes for 896 yards, and scored 6 touchdowns.

“The Raiders finished 4 and 12 last season, and Derek Carr is the quarterback in Oakland.  Just think what Cook could do with Drew Brees throwing him the ball in this offense,” Hebert added.

The addition of Cook gives the Saints a threat from the tight end position they haven’t really had since trading away Jimmy Graham in 2015.
