The AirBnB debate is back, with the New Orleans City Planning Commission meeting this afternoon to mull what recommendations, if any, to make to the New Orleans City Council about regulating short term rentals.
Today's meeting picks up where last week's hours-long public hearing left off, with commissioners weighing the pros and cons of short term rentals.
Many people told the commission short term rentals are vital to them helping make ends meet, so they can keep living in the homes they own. Others said short term rentals cut down on available long-term apartments, forcing people out of the city.
The planning commission is set to meet this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the city council chamber in New Orleans City Hall.
