One day of adult beverages, two days of family fun and three nights of naughtiness are all on tap in New Orleans this weekend.

Fried chicken, burlesque and beer are the main attractions at area festivals.

The 3rd Annual Fried Chicken Festival has grown beyond its New Orleans roots.

We changed the name to the National Fried Chicken Festival last year," says festival founder, Cleveland Spears. "And, when we did that, we opened it up and started inviting chefs and restaurants to come down to New Orleans to compete."

"We have 35 restaurants participating. And, while fried chicken is the headlining dish, we really stress menu creativity with our chefs."

Spears is hoping for as many as 200,000 chicken lovers to attend the free two-day event, which also features live music both days.

"We really want it to be one of the largest food festivals in the country," says Spears." Because we know that New Orleans is such a culinary destination already."

There's also a taste of the city this weekend at the 10th Annual New Orleans Burlesque Festival.

"Rita Alexander, the 'Champagne Girl' who was a big star on Bourbon Street in the late 60s and 70s, will be coming to all of the shows and signing autographs," says producer Rick Delaup. " And, on Saturday night we'll have a live jazz band to accompany the 'Queen of Burlesque' competition."

He says performers from all over the world will be in New Orleans to take the stage and take off most of their clothes.

"The woman who won our title, 'Queen of Burlesque', last year now performs on the Las Vegas strip in one of the most popular shows there, and she'll be back to perform."

The burlesque events will be held at the House of Blues and the Civic Theatre.
