Get ready for a blast of Arctic air!

"After record warmth this weekend in the low 80s, a cold front arrives to chill us down today," WWL-TV Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford said. 

After starting in the 60's today, and climbing into the 70s this afternoon, a cold front ushers in chilly weather.

"Much colder air arrives tonight," Cranford forecasts. "Some frost will be possible on the Northshore on Wednesday and Thursday mornings."

She says highs tomorrow and Wednesday will only be in the 50s.

Coastal showers in the morning, then gradually clearing skies and mild. Highs around 72. Wind N 6-12 mph.

TONIGHT:

Mostly clear and chilly. Lows north of the lake around 41 and south around 48. Wind N 6-12 mph.

TUESDAY:

Clear, a bit breezy and cool. Highs around 59. Wind N 8-15 mph.

WEDNESDAY:

Clear and cool. Lows north of the lake around 34 with frost possible. Protect plants and pets. Lows south of the lake around 40. Protect pets. Highs around 57.

THURSDAY:

Clear and cool. Lows north of the lake around 35 with frost possible. Protect plants and pets. Lows south of the lake around 43. Protect pets. Highs around 65.

FRIDAY:

Clouds & sun and mild with a 20% chance for a few showers. Lows north of the lake around 46 and south around 51. Highs around 69.

SATURDAY:

Mostly cloudy, windy and mild with a 70% chance for showers and thunderstorms. Lows around 60. Highs around 72.

SUNDAY:

Mostly cloudy, breezy and cool. Lows north of the lake around 44 and south around 48. Highs around 56.
