Another hot, steamy day for New Orleans.

Our temperatures will remain high, in the low to mid 90s again today, feeling like 100 to 105.

"An area of high pressure is sitting over the eastern Gulf and that is helping to bring us plenty of sunshine with only a few afternoon storms today and Friday," said WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum.  "Any storm that does develop will have some heavy rain and plenty of lightning."

We'll see rain chances rise on Saturday and Sunday as the ridge of high pressure moves east.

"I'm not expecting anything to develop over the next 5 days," Nussbaum said, regarding the tropics.
