Seven million dollars in high grade illegally grown marijuana was seized Wednesday.

Troopers with the Louisiana State Police Narcotics and Violent Crime task force also seized over five thousand plants capable of producing high THC content marijuana from three illegal grow operations.  Two grow houses were in St. Tammany Parish, another was discovered in Orleans Parish.

Also seized were hundreds of pounds of processed marijuana ready for distribution.

Four men were also arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on multiple charges related to the illegal narcotics operation.

As a result of a month’s long investigation targeting members of a drug trafficking organization, Troopers and Officers from the task force executed six search warrants in St. Tammany and Orleans Parish.

In addition to the “high grade” marijuana plants, agents also seized a small amount of cocaine, suboxone, two vehicles, two firearms, and approximately $75,000.

The Louisiana State Police Narcotics/Violent Crimes Task Force is comprised of narcotics agents from the Louisiana State Police, United States Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Homeland Security Investigations, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, Slidell Police Department and the St. Tammany Parish District Attorney’s Office.
