Metairie Winn-Dixie employee tested positive for COVID-19

Employee did not show symptoms of coronavirus

A Metairie Winn-Dixie says an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a statement sent to WWL-TV, the employee is under quarantine and every precaution has been taken to ensure the store is clean.

WWL-TV says the statement from Winn-Dixie's parent company Southeastern Grocer confirmed the employee worked at the Winn-Dixie at 211 Veterans Boulevard and that the employee did not show symptoms of the virus.

The statement says "We have followed all public health recommendations and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control." It reads, "We will continue to offer the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in our stores."
