Some choose to spend Mardi Gras in Metairie over New Orleans.  We caught up with some who spent the night to get a good spot.  Some have been doing this for 25 years and that's because they say, it's family-oriented in Metairie.

Let the grandkids go out there and enjoy it, and I just sit back here and let them enjoy themselves," said this man who spends the night marking his family's spot.

"I have 2 little grandbabies and I don't like barricades, this is just easier," one lady said.

"We do Metairie Mardi Gras every year, because my wife and daughter enjoy it," said another man.  "We've been doing this for years."

"I've been coming out here all my life, but you see the camper in the parking lot, that's been here for the last 20 years," said one Mardi Gras reveler.

The Krewe of Argus begins rolling at 10 am followed by the Truck Parade.
