Mardi Gras is just two weeks from today, and that means we're about to hit the meat of the parade schedule.

So what's new in this centuries-old tradition? Mardi Gras Guide publisher Arthur Hardy says for starters, the city of New Orleans just passed new regulations for parade goers here on the Uptown route -- like not being able to set up until four hours before a parade starts. The million dollar question is, how will it be enforced?

"Do we have the manpower, the woman power, to enforce these? I don't think we don't know yet, but we're going to find out!" said Hardy.

The new rules also regulate how many marching units, dance teams, high school bands, and other elements can appear in a parade. Hardy says most crews have already been following those rules before they were made law

Meanwhile in Metairie, there are some changes in the parade schedule -- including the departure of a popular parade.

"We're all going to miss Caesar," said Hardy. "It was arguably the biggest and best parade in Metairie and they had a great 40 year run."

The Krewe of Centurion has switched from the second weekend to the first take Caesar's place. Also new on the Metairie parade route -- the Krewe of MadHatter debuts Saturday.

"I'm expecting some good things from them," said Hardy. "They've sunk a lot of money in this parade."
