The LSU Tigers are trying to put the finishing touches on the 2019 recruiting class with the second round of signing on today's National Signing day.

The Tigers are trying to close in on two Amite products that would give the 2019 class a national championship caliber grade.

Amite WR Devonta Lee is expected to sign with LSU.   He visited the campus on February 1st.  The 6"2', 212 pound wide receiver was named to the 2018 Second Team All-USA Louisiana Football Team.

(Update: Lee did select LSU in a nationally broadcast announcement just before 1:00pm)

His teammate Ishmael Sopsher is also a highly coveted recruit.  He has been trying to decide between LSU and Alabama.  Sopsher is the number five ranked defensive tackle in the country, according most recruiting sites.

Tiger Head Coach Ed Orgeron and LSU spent four days with him last week trying to close the deal.

Alabama Coach Nick Saban also visited with Sopsher and his family on Sunday night trying to pry him away from the Tigers.

Coach O insisted that the Tigers have to recruit better offensive and defensive lineman after they lost to Alabama in November.

Sopsher has gone back and forth between the Tigers and Tide throughout the last year.  His older brother is a junior college three star defensive lineman and some feel like in order to get the younger Sopsher a school will have to offer his brother a scholarship as well.

(Update: Sopsher minutes after Lee announced he is going to Alabama)

LB Soni Fonua from Salt Lake City, Utah today selected LSU; as did S Maurice Hampton Jr. from Arlington, TN and TE Ray Parker out of Ruston, LA.
