Fans of the LSU Tigers can watch the Championship parade Saturday at 11 a.m. on the Baton Rouge campus.

LSU Senior Associate Athletic Director Robert Munson expects a great crowd and says it’ll be a party giving fans the opportunity to see all of the players and coaches together one last time before many of them move on in their careers or graduate.

“It’s going to have some mardi gras floats and dignitaries and throws and all of that good stuff, so we are just going to have a good old fashion mardi gras celebration, but of course we are going to be celebrating a national championship,” Munson said.

The campus will open early to tailgating at 8 a.m.

The parade begins at the School of Music and wraps up as it heads down Victory Hill.  Munson says to approach the parade like you would game day against a major opponent.

“If you want to tailgate, please feel free to do so along the parade route, and look we expect a pretty big crowd so if you want to get a spot where you can see the parade and then get into the PMAC, the earlier you can get here the better,” he advised.

Rain is expected, but unless the weather is severe Munson does not expect it will stop the parade.

Once the parade wraps up the party moves inside the Maravich Assembly Center at 12 noon.  Munson says the room will be packed with dignitaries, and award celebrations.

“All of the awards that the players have won throughout the season will be out there," Munson said.  We will have some players speaking, coaches speaking, and we are just going to celebrate all that happened this season.”

Anyone who wants to purchase LSU Championship gear will be able to do so outside the PMAC.
