Louisiana’s first Shake Shack will open its doors Friday.

The national burger chain will begin serving New Orleans area customers at 11 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Boulevard on the corner of Severn Avenue.

The first 100 people in line will receive a free Dirty Coast T-Shirt and Shake Shack swag.

Known for their burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs and frozen custard the Metairie location will feature items with a bit of Louisiana flavor.

The menu will feature three “Frozen Custard Concretes,” each boasting and item from Haydel’s.

Diners can order the “Metairie Mixer” which is vanilla custard, fudge sauce, Haydel's Bakery praline and chocolate toffee, the “Shack Attack” featuring chocolate custard, fudge sauce, Haydel's Bakery chocolate brownie, Mast Brothers dark chocolate chunks and chocolate sprinkles.

They also be able to enjoy the “Pie Oh My” which will be vanilla custard blended with piece of Haydel's Bakery seasonal pie.

Guests can wash their burgers down with local brews from Abita Brewery, Nola Brewing Company, Dixie Beer and Second Line Brewing plus Shake Shack’s exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale. Wine lovers can enjoy a glass of Shack RedTM and Shack WhiteTM wine from the Gotham Project.

The franchise is set to open two more locations in the area this year with one coming to Canal Place and another at the new Louis Armstrong Airport terminal.

Shake Shack is currently hiring. Those interested are encouraged to apply online at ShackCareers.com.
