LSU will head to Atlanta later this week to play Georgia on Saturday in the SEC Championship game. The Tigers are 12-0 and college football analysts say the Tigers are in the college football playoff even if they lose to the Bulldogs, Coach Ed Orgeron says his team is not entertaining that thought.

“We gotta finish the season, we gotta finish the SEC Championship, then we’ll see where we are ranked and where ever we are ranked we gotta go play and we gotta go win anyway,” said Orgeron.

The matchup to watch in this game is LSU’s high-powered offense against Georgia’s stingy defense, which is allowing just 10 points a game. Orgeron says it’s the best defense they’ve faced all season.

“It starts with their defensive line, they are very well-coached, they are agile, they move, they can take on blocks, slant, pass rush well, they do it all,” Orgeron said.

Georgia is in the SEC Championship Game for a third straight season. The Bulldogs are 11-and-1 and their only loss was at home to South Carolina. Georgia Coach Kirby Smart likes how his team bounced back from that defeat.

“Now we can get a chance that not every team in the country gets and that’s play on what I consider the largest stage in college football,” said Smart.

The SEC Championship game is Saturday, December 7th in Atlanta, Georgia at 3 p.m. central time at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
