Three companies are now waiting to see which one of them will get the opportunity to sell its coffee and beignets at City Park.

All the bids are in. Now City Park is reviewing the submissions to see which they think is the best.

"We don't have a specific time line, but I would guess some time in the next 30, 60 days, we'll reach a conclusion," said City Park CEO Robert Becker. "Our attorneys are now looking at all the submissions. We're not going to rush this. We're going to make sure we look at it carefully."

Becker says they like the coffee-and-donuts, or in this case, coffee-and-beignets, concept for the site, and the three competing bids are all well known experts in the field -- Morning Call, the current operator at the site; Cafe Du Monde, and Cafe Beignet.

There's a lot at stake for Morning Call, which recently closed it's longtime Metairie location, leaving City Park as its only place of business.
