The head of the local office of the National Weather Service is moving to Miami. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration today announced Ken Graham as its selection for director of the National Hurricane Center.

The NHC has been without a permanent director since Richard Knabb retired shortly before the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season.  Edward Rappaport has served as interim director.

Graham will take over April 1. No announcement has been made on who will take Graham's post at the NWS office in Slidell.
