What is believed to be a human bone was discovered by a debris cleanup crew in Livingston Parish on Monday, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.

The bone had become entangled with debris in the Tickfaw River south of LA Hwy 42.
"There are a lot of unknowns here - for example, how long has it been there?  The (leg) bone is currently at the LSU FACES Laboratory being tested to determine the identity.  It’s unclear how long it could take to get answers. Then, we’ll take those answers & attempt to connect the dots," the Sheriff said.

The investigation is ongoing.
