Louisiana State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that killed a 55-year-old Lacombe man.

Troopers say Mark D. Quillin was killed when the 2201 GMC Sierra he was driving crashed on U.S. 190 near Transmitter Rd. shortly before 9:00 p.m. Friday.

"Physical evidence observed on scene suggested that Quillin’s front right tire had deflated and was riding on the rim," said Trooper Dustin Dwight. "The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway onto the gravel shoulder and into a ditch beyond the right side of the roadway.

"After exiting the roadway, the vehicle overturned," Dwight continued. "Quillin was unrestrained at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene."

State police collected blood samples for analysis.
