I am pretty sure fans were a little upset at the decision by the Saints to cancel day 3 of Mini Camp today, but once you understand a few things I think it will help take away the sting.
First, the team says it was a football operations decision.  What does that mean?  It means Sean Payton made the decision.  Why?  Because he wanted to announce the “Saints 2018 Hall of fame class.”  Two players that Payton coached going in, Pierre Thomas and Lance Moore.
According to our Saints color analyst and all-time leading rusher, Deuce McAllister – it makes sense. "He got what he wanted out of them in the previous two days, plus you remember what happened last year?  That's when Terron Armstead was injured,” said Deuce.  “You don't lose anything by canceling this practice.  It makes total sense."
If you're a young guy trying to make the Saints roster, then you might be upset because you need every rep.  But, this has very little impact on the team.  You're simply not going to get better in one more practice.
The Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert’s immediate reaction, “It's weird…but, I understand it.  I just didn't expect them to cancel a mandatory practice, but okay.”
The Saints are now off until the end of July, when the players report for Training Camp.
