Kristian Fulton out for Fiesta Bowl
LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton will not participate in the Fiesta Bowl and his status for spring football is up in the air due to a foot injury he will need surgery on, LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said on a teleconference Sunday.
Fulton suffered the injury Nov. 10 against Arkansas and has not seen the field since.
“His status won’t be known for spring ball yet,” Orgeron said. “I need to check and see how he’ll recuperate from his operations.”
Fulton started 10 games for the Tigers in which he tallied 25 tackles an interception and nine pass breakups before going down.
Still room to improve
Earning a spot in a New Years Six bowl also earned the Tigers some extra time to practice before the end of the season.
With some athletes like Fulton and Breiden Fehoko hurt and others expected to consider skipping out on the game ahead of the NFL Draft, LSU will look to some younger guys to step up against the Knights.
Orgeron said the Fiesta Bowl will give the Tigers an opportunity to tweak some things on offense as well as prepare some of his younger athletes for the 2019-20 season.
