A 40-year-old Kenner woman faces an attempted murder charge after police say she opened fire on her husband as he backed out of the driveway.

Police say Tammy Bush and her husband of 15 years had gotten into an argument early this morning at their residence in the 2700 block of Panama Street.

“During the altercation, Tammy Bush asked her husband to leave the residence which he did voluntarily,” said Kenner Police Lieutenant Brian McGregor in a news release. “As he was backing out the driveway in their vehicle, Tammy Bush exited their residence armed with a handgun that she pointed and discharged five times in the direction of her husband. Three rounds pierced the windshield of the vehicle with one round striking her husband in his neck.”

Kenner police said Monday evening that as of yet, no bond had been set for Bush, and she remained in custody.
